Prohibited Items & Intellectual Property
Last updated 9 October 2026
In short
- SelloPop sells everyday, unbranded products. We do not sell counterfeit or replica goods, or branded goods without the brand owner’s authorisation.
- Every product is screened for brand names and logos before it can appear on SelloPop. Flagged products are blocked for good.
- We don’t sell dangerous or restricted products such as weapons, loose batteries, liquids, medicines or food.
- Rights holders can report a listing to support@sellopop.com. We acknowledge within 2 business days and remove infringing listings promptly.
- Suppliers that repeatedly infringe are blocked permanently.
1. No counterfeit or replica goods
We do not sell, and will not knowingly sell:
- counterfeit goods, replicas, copies or “inspired by” items that use another brand’s name, logo, trademark or protected design;
- branded goods unless we are authorised by the brand owner to sell them;
- products that infringe someone else’s copyright, design rights or patents;
- listings that use another company’s photos, text or brand names without permission.
We check this before a product appears on SelloPop. Every product passes an automated filter for brand names and brand-related words in English and Chinese, and for brand information in the supplier’s data, followed by staff review where needed. A product that is flagged is blocked. It never appears in search, categories, recommendations or feeds, and its page can’t be opened. Blocked products stay blocked.
No filter is perfect. If you think a listing breaks these rules, please report it (section 4).
2. Products we don’t sell
For safety and legal reasons, we don’t sell:
- weapons, ammunition, replica or toy guns that look real, knives designed as weapons, and self-defence sprays or tasers;
- loose lithium batteries, power banks, and products with batteries that are over airline limits or can’t be shipped safely;
- liquids, gels, aerosols, flammable, corrosive or otherwise hazardous materials;
- strong magnets that are small enough to be swallowed, and toys containing them;
- food, drinks, dietary supplements, medicines, medical devices and contact lenses;
- cosmetics and skincare that are applied to the skin, where the law of your country requires safety assessments we can’t confirm;
- toys for children under 3, and other toys or children’s products without the safety marking your country requires;
- electrical products that plug into the mains, unless they carry the safety marking your country requires and the correct plug;
- laser pointers and other products above legal power limits;
- tobacco, e-cigarettes, vaping products and drug-related items;
- adult products;
- live animals, plants, seeds and animal products such as ivory or fur from protected species;
- recalled products, and anything that is illegal to sell or import in the country it is shipped to.
3. If you receive something that shouldn’t be sold
If you receive a product that you think is counterfeit or unsafe, please contact us. We will refund you in full, block the product and, where needed, tell the authorities. Please don’t use an item you think is unsafe.
4. Notice and takedown for rights holders
If you own a trademark, copyright, design or patent, or act for someone who does, and you believe a listing on SelloPop infringes it, send a notice to support@sellopop.com with “Rights notice” in the subject.
What your notice must include
- Your name, company (if any), postal address, email and phone number.
- If you act for the rights holder, the rights holder’s name and confirmation that you are authorised to act for them.
- The right you rely on: for a trademark or registered design, the registration number and the countries or territories it covers; for copyright, a description of the work.
- The full web address (URL) of each listing you are reporting.
- A short explanation of why each listing infringes your right.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
- Your signature (a typed name is enough for an email notice).
What happens next
- We acknowledge your notice within 2 business days.
- If your notice is complete and the listing clearly infringes, we remove it within 2 business days of receiving the notice. If we need more information, we ask you.
- We block the product permanently and review the supplier it came from.
- Any open orders for that product are cancelled and the buyers are refunded.
- We tell you what action we took.
If we decide not to act on a notice, we explain why. Sending notices that you know are false may make you liable for the losses they cause.
5. Repeat infringers
- Suppliers: if we remove products from the same supplier because of a valid notice or our own review twice, we block that supplier permanently. No further products from them will appear on SelloPop.
- Customers: if someone repeatedly uploads infringing content, for example photos in reviews they don’t have rights to, we remove the content and may close their account.
Our block lists are kept permanently.
6. Reporting any listing
Anyone can report a listing that seems unsafe, illegal, counterfeit or misleading, using “Report this item” on the product page or by emailing us. We review reports within 2 business days. For safety concerns, see Product Safety.
